On Monday, 12th December, 2016, the FARA Secretariat bade farewell to three senior staff members, namely: Dr. Emmanuel Tambi, Policy Advisor; Dr. Clensensio Tizikara, Lead Specialist Monitoring and Evaluation and Dr. Nelson Ojijo, Lead Specialist Capacity Development.
Speaking at the send-off ceremony, the Executive Director of FARA, Dr. Yemi Akinbamijo praised the diligence and dedication of these highly experienced and competent professionals. He recognized their immense contributions to the achievements of FARA and acknowledged that they would be missed. He wished them success in their new positions.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Irene Annor-Frempong, Director, Research and Innovation spoke highly of the staff. She praised Dr. Nelson Ojijo for the strong intellectual leadership he demonstrated in the design and implementation of capacity development actions at FARA over the past seven years.
Dr. Annor-Frempong applauded Dr. Tizikara for putting in place robust systems for planning as well as tracking and reporting on progress towards FARA’s goals. She further observed that Dr. Emmanuel Tambi will be missed for his scholarly work on policy and advocacy, noting that he had published no less than 12 books on policy options for enhancing the impact of agricultural innovation in Africa.
Dr. Aggrey Agumya, the Director for Corporate Partnerships and Communication and Dr. Oluwole Fatunbi, Lead Specialist Innovation Systems and Partnerships also spoke highly of the departing colleagues.
